I'm not sure if 波形 in the title is supposed to be Hakei or Namigata; both work and mean the same thing (one is on'yomi, one is kun'yomi). I went with Hakei because it had better alliteration with Hankyou.
CQ is a radio communication abbreviation. Originally chosen because they resemble the first two syllables of the french word sécurité (security/"pay attention"), hearing the morse pattern at the beginning of a transmission (-.-. --.- , often sent 3 times) helps distinguish it as a transmitted message rather than background noise, especially for weak or noisy signals. This is also used to preface voice transmissions in amateur radio ("CQ, CQ, CQ, this is [callsign]..."). Some English-speaking people will use the mnemonic that it sounds like "Seek You".
