Howard Hampton to Visit Waterloo

Mark your calendars! Thursday, October 19, at 4 pm, Howard Hampton will be visiting Waterloo. The topic for discussion will be housing - who has it, who doesn't, and the problems involved in finding affordable, dependable housing in our communities. Come at Laurier to meet the leader of the Ontario New Democrats and to take part in a stimulating discussion on a most pressing problem.

UWNDP Club is (finally) formed!

This term, the NDP has re-established a formal presence at the University of Waterloo. We have a core of dedicated members, including co-chairs Cathy Kerr and Dan Pollock. We will be working on a number of different campaigns this term, and holding some special events. The first is the Howard Hampton visit on October 19, which we are very excited about. The second is an all-party student debate that we are hoping to organize for sometime in November. Finally, we will be working with the Ontario New Democratic Youth (ONDY), on their campaign to get genetically modified foods identified in cafeterias and other eating establishments. Feel free to contact us for more information (and especially if you want to become a member!):

Laurier and Conestoga students are more than welcome to get involved with the active UWNDP.
