Compatible Environments
The source code in the RTSP Proxy Kit has been successfully compiled and run in both UNIX and Windows environments. This section provides key details on these test implementations.
UNIX
The source code was compiled and run successfully on a Linux operating system, using the following components:
Operating system: Linux version 2.2
Processor: Intel Pentium II (400 megahertz)
Compiler: GNU Gcc 2.91.66
 |
Note |
This implementation of the RTSP Proxy Kit running on
UNIX can support up to 200 simultaneous client
connections. The maximum number of client
connections that a given RTSP proxy server can support
depends on the computer's CPU and the maximum
number of configurable file descriptors allowed in a
single process.
|
Windows
The RTSP Proxy Kit was also successfully tested in a Windows environment, using the following components:
Operating system: Windows NT version 4.0, with Service Pack version 3.0
Processor: Intel Pentium II (350 megahertz)
Compiler: Microsoft Visual C++ version 5.0
 |
Note |
This implementation of the RTSP Proxy Kit running on
Windows supports up to 10 simultaneous client
connections. The maximum number of client
connections that a given RTSP proxy server can support
depends on both the implementation and the specific
Windows platform being used.
