Couldn't find anything good, all other paths led to things like three-cycle of corners plus two twisted corners, with more moves.
At the same spot as the first insertion there is also B L' B' R B L B' R', cancelling 2, and at the end of the first line there is U R' U' L U R U' L', cancelling 2. Did not have time to explore either of these.

Optimal insertions give 36. Going with B L' B' R B L B' R' as the first insertion would have lead to four moves cancelled on the second insertion. Too bad.
