Out of the 166 responses we received, 160 of them indicated that they were in coop, while 5 said they were not. Co-op is overall a popular choice among Waterloo students, and opens the door to many opportunities.
Toronto and New York are the top favourite 2 destinations for co-op students. They are both large cities with many things to do and many large companies, so it comes as no surprise that many students prefer these places
Out of the responses we received, 128 (87.7%) people had placements every term. However, don't despair if you don't get a placement, as 18 (12.3%) respondants had a work term without a placement or participated in WE Accelerate.
Finding a co-op placement especially in this job market can be fairly difficult. Don't give up!
Many co-ops offered free or discounted food or drinks, and it was a hit among the co-op students. Co-ops also privded other cool perks, such as free techhnology or transportation
Later in people's careers, a greater number of co-ops are found externally, which is likely both due to having more experience to reach out to companies not going through WaterlooWorks and due to students taking return offers.
