GDCIE

This is a record of past terms of the Glorious Discussions Concerning Interactive Entertainment (GDCIE):

The GDCIE is a chance for us to study our contemporaries and explore the medium of games. Each week a game will be chosen, everyone interested in joining the discussion will play it, and then we’ll all meet and discuss the game’s design and artistic merit, in a way that is, hopefully, relevant to us as game developers.

    NetHack may be an interesting game for GDCIE to get a sense of what roguelikes were like. Should give us all different stories to talk about and mechanics to pick apart (http://www.nethack.org/v343/downloads.html). Just a suggestion.

    @Neel
    Noted. May very likely be the next one after Dwarf Fortress (if not NetHack, then it will probably be another roguelike).

    IVAN is a pretty awesome roguelike that could also be a contender: http://ivan.sourceforge.net
