Welcome back to school, hope everyone had a good summer, and maybe even competed in some triathlons. This years inter-university series will consist of 5 races, the first one in October. I will be getting all of the information on these races in the next couple of days, and will be able to pass it on. We will have a meeting concerning when and where these races are on Wednesday September 25 in the SLC at 7:00 - I think it's room 2134/35.
To start off this fall the University of Waterloo campus rec program is holding a try-a-tri again this year. This consists of a 750 yd swim in the pac pool, followed by a 20 km bike and a 5 km run around ring road. If you are interested in this event you can sign up at campus rec. Anyone that would like to help out, or have friends that can help out please let me know. The more support that the tri club has the easier we can be recognized as a club, which will lead to our club hosting the race, and getting the profits from the race.
Well that's it for now. I hope to see most of you at the meeting. If you have any questions please e-mail me: amjarvis@undergrad.math.uwaterloo.ca.
Amy
Anyway, members, we want members, whether you're Scott Tinley or Rosanne want you to come out and discover what triathlons are all about (maybe you can even explain it to me?!?) We have a small ($5) membership fee to help fund this fairly new organization. This fee will be used to provide services such as supporting members' participation at races in and out of town, as well as activities for the group as a whole.
Any questions can be directed to Alan Chan for the time being, send E-mail to ADFCHAN@SCIBORG.UWATERLOO.CA. Also, see the newsgroup uw.clubs.triathlon for the latest talk.

is our first sponsor! In one of the more visible acts of sponsorship they have provided T-shirts which are available from Amy Jarvis. Many thanks especially to The Mutual Group but also to other event sponsors.
We welcomed almost 50 racers from universities all over Southern Ontario, even a guy all the way from U of Ottawa! The atheletic skills present was awesome, including many members of the Canadian National Triathlon team who are going to the World Triathlon Championship. Sponsorship was supplied by companies like Powerbar, Rip'n Hammer and our local businesses ie. Zehrs, Westons Bread, Runner's Choice, Cyclepath and our own Mutual Group Sponsor.
